Today a little boy told a little girl, “Imma rape you”

And her teacher said, “Go, play.”

Because no little boy, innocent little boy,

Could know what it means to rape.

A little boy told a little girl “Imma rape you”

And her brother interceded saying,

“Touch my sister and I’ll hurt you”, and their Principal spoke with a strap

“Violence in children is real” she said “But rape?” Hmm shrug

A little boy not quite 8, told a little girl not quite 7 “Imma rape you”

As the activists cried out yet again, against the evils of men,

How hate was embedded in the Y chromosome and women should unite,

For the protection of our daughters,

Against the evils of the “media”, over the media they cried

While, a little boy, sweet child, told a little girl “imam rape you”

And her parents said “We’ll deal with that tomorrow.”

But forgot the threat as the sun set

Kids will be kids and boys will be boys

They are over reacting, rationalizing and over simplifying,

After all he’s just a little boy and kids shouldn’t know,

They are innocent.

It’s an innocent threat, so let’s just forget.

That today

A little boy said to a little girl “imma rape you”

But no one bothered to ask the boy, or even the girl,

What it meant to rape.

And no one thought to correct, when children’s melee overheard,

Revealed that rape and sex were synonymous!

But in ten years time, a man of nearly 18 will say to a girl not far behind,

“Imma rape you”

And he’s the subject of the activists,

He’s society’s downfall made flesh,

He’s a predator, a psycho

But he’s still just a little boy, talking to a little girl.

Who both we failed to educate about the meaning of a word,

So vile it’s definition would destroy his innocence,

A little boy

Who was left to think,

It was O.K to rape.
